Please note that all face to face meetings have been suspended as local authorities in England have been granted new powers to hold public meetings virtually by using video or telephone conferencing technology from Saturday 4 April 2020.
The government has temporarily removed the legal requirement for local authorities to hold public meetings in person during the coronavirus pandemic. This will enable councils to make effective and transparent decisions on the delivery of services for residents and ensure that local democracy continues to thrive.
The Regulations were made in Parliament on 2 April 2020 and apply to meetings taking place before 7 May 2021.
The current guidance to parish councils is that, whilst rules have been relaxed with regards face to face meetings, where meetings can take place digitally, without the need for face-to-face contact, they should continue to do so.
Members of the public and press are, as always, welcome to join the council’s meetings and joining instructions can be obtained from the clerk once the agenda is published.
