The Annual Parish Meeting

The Annual Parish Meeting  is quite different from  other council meetings with an opportunity to share the community’s successes, to consider its challenges and includes short presentations from local representatives.

It is generally held in either March or April and is always well-attended with the National Trust, our County and District Councillors and representatives from  community organisations based in the village taking part.

All meetings are open to the public but only electors may vote.

Due the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 the council did not hold an Annual Parish Meeting, in line with the Local Authorities and Police and Crime Panels (Coronavirus) (Flexibility of Local Authority and Police and Crime Panel Meetings) (England and Wales) Regulations 2020 (“the 2020 Regulations”) .

Update 8 March 2021

As the Annual Meeting of the Parish which ordinarily takes place in Slindon during March or April is always such a well-attended and interactive event it does not lend itself to a ‘Zoom’ meeting. In the interests of the safety of residents the Council has decided against organising a face-to-face event although it may be possible to arrange something later in the year.

The next Annual Meeting of the Parish will be held on Thursday 25th May 2023, at Slindon’s Coronation Hall at 7 p.m.
