Event Management

Slindon is a beautiful and vibrant parish which attracts many visitors throughout the year.

For many years the village name was synonymous with the annual pumpkin event, with pumpkins of every shape, size and colour imaginable on display including 50 types of pumpkins and 30 types of squash!

This photograph is of the pumpkin mural from 2019 entitled ‘Octopuses Garden’ (courtesy of Colin Knaggs).

If you are running any event in the village please consider how issues such as parking will be managed to minimise the impact on residents and other visitors.

There is  some very useful guidance for event organisers on the Arun District Council website.

The Parish Council also has a supply of traffic cones for use by local groups arranging events in the village and please contact the clerk if you would like to book these out for an event.

When booking out the cones please be aware of the following ;

  1. Where possible we ask that the cones are booked well in advance to ensure availability.
  2. You will need to collect and return the cones which are kindly stored by the National Trust.
  3. The cones are quite bulky to transport.
  4. Although there is no charge for borrowing the cones any that are not returned will need to be paid for so that they can be replaced.
