Guide for councillors on personal interests
The Department for Communities and Local Government have issued a guide for councillors on personal interests which aims to provide practical information about how to be open and transparent about their interests. It follows on from the new standards arrangements introduced by the Localism Act 2011. A copy of the guide can be found by clicking on the item below.

REGISTER OF MEMBERS INTERESTS
The Localism Act 2011 provides for the existing Code of Conduct to be replaced by a new Local Code of Conduct that is consistent with the seven 'Nolan' principles of standards in public life; selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty and leadership, as well as making provision for the registration and disclosure of pecuniary and non-pecuniary interests. Parish Councillors have therefore completed new register of interest forms which have been lodged with the District Council. A copy of the register is attached for information.
